Informational Meeting for Farmland Preservation

IMPORTANT INFORMATIONAL MEETING AND
OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE YOUR PROPERTY ZONING
PLEASE ATTEND MONDAY, JUNE 9, 2014
7:30 P.M. AT THE
ERIN PRAIRIE TOWN HALL

May 16, 2014

St. Croix County is working on a comprehensive revision to the county’s zoning ordinance. As part of this revision, multiple zoning districts including Ag. 1, Ag. 2 and Rural Residential have been established in order to accommodate diverse agricultural activities and businesses. Because this is a comprehensive revision, each township is required to indicate whether county zoning will be readopted and determine what the town zoning map will look like. The county would like the township’s response by mid July.

On Monday, June 9, 2014 at 7:30p.m representatives from the County Planning & Zoning Department will present information and answer questions regarding the comprehensive revision. Please join us at the Erin Prairie Town Hall to learn about the changes to zoning and the options now available in the zoning districts. We encourage land owners to help determine what the Erin Prairie zoning map will look like. In order to continue receiving the $7 – $10 tax credit for Ag. Land Preservation, land must be zoned Agricultural. However, now you may choose between Ag. 1 and Ag. 2 zoning.

Information about the comprehensive revision and zoning ordinance language may be found at www.sccwi.us/farmpresplan. After reviewing this information and listening to the presentation on June 9th you may indicate to the board what zoning district you would prefer. Please bring along a list of your parcel numbers so we can be sure they are placed in the correct zoning district. If we do not hear from land owners the board will determine the zoning districts. If you are unable to attend but are interested in changing your zoning please contact clerk, Jackie Mitchell, at 715-246-5514 or e-mail [email protected].

Thank you for your input.
