NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at an electiono to be held in the Town Of Erin Prairie on November 5, 2024 the following question will be submitted to a vote of the people:

“Shall the person holding the office of Town Clerk/Treasurer in the Town Of Erin Prairie be appointed by the Town Board instead of elected every other year?     Yes____       No____

                                                                               EXPLANATION

   The reason for changing the elected position to a position appointed by the Town Board is due to the extensive training and knowledge required to successfully fulfill the requirements of the job.  Appointment of Clerk/Treasurer will insure the position is filled with an individual that is capable of learning and completing the work that is required.  
      The current Clerk/Treasurer is not planning to run for the elected position again.  The Board would like the option to hire a Clerk/Treasurer if there is not an individual in the township that is interested in running for the position.

    A “Yes” vote will authorize the Town Board to appoint the Town Clerk/Treasurer.

    A “No”  vote will deny the Town Board the authority to appoint the Town Clerk/Treasurer.  Thus the office of Town Clerk/Treasurer will continue to be an elected position.
